Our story
Established in 2020, as a 501(c)(3) publicly supported organization, Glen Burnie Pearls of Service, Incorporated (GBPS) purpose is to exercise, promote, and protect the privileges and interests of the residents of Glen Burnie (Anne Arundel County) and surrounding areas; to foster a healthy interest in the civic affairs of the community; to develop good citizenship; to help young people receive a higher education; to increase the motivation of youth; to provide scholarships, awards and/or sustenance grants.
In April 2020, the Internal Revenue Service approved GBPS as a tax-exempt publicly supported organization. This status allows contributions to the Foundation to be tax deductible.
Our Mission
Glen Burnie Pearls of Service (GBPS) raises funds through member dues and fundraising efforts. GBPS meets at least annually to consider organizational matters, program grant proposals and develop fundraising strategies.
As we come together to celebrate scholarship and service, we invite you to join us in this inspiring mission. Together, we can create lasting change and build a stronger, more vibrant community for generations to come!
“It doesn’t matter how strong your opinions are. If you don’t use your power for positive change, you are, indeed, part of the problem.”
